I've been running my Venom and Trinity Reference 3000mah sport packs in my VXL powered Stampede. Will the VXL severly shorten the life of these packs? In the Pede, I don't really notice them getting super hot, just pretty much warm.

FYI - contrary to what I read almost everywhere, my Venom packs have been very good packs. The Trinty Reference on the other hand, seem like they are getting alittle spongy....and in the VXL, when they are done, the power drop is almost immediate! Like in two ...

Dr. Diff - Per our conversation of a few days ago, please see the photo of the thrust bearing assembly on my Evader below.

The black nylon beveled washer to the most right goes on the bolt first - that I could figure out. The next two brass looking washers have a slight bevel on each on the inside and these are the ones that don't show up on the exploded view. The next is the thrust bearing and the last washer to the most left is a simple flat washer with a groove worn in it - I'm ...

Not too ago, I picked up a velineon kit and slapped it in my Bandit. Needless to say it was fun. Not too after that, I picked up an Integy alloy tranny case for the Bandit too. Not wanting to start a flame war but at this point, I'm confused about the seemly endless bad rap Integy gets on some of the boards. The tranny case is quite nice and went together without a hitch. Also, as I had hoped, the aluminum case acts as a heat sink and really draws heat from the BL motor - it gets mildly warm ...

I was talking to my local HT USA owner today who just got back from the HT convention. He said Traxxas just (this week maybe) announced that they will start an upgrade program to go from Traxxas brushed systems to Velineon BL systems, similiar to the nitro engine upgrade program.

No details yet but rumor has it that you could save up to 30 bucks or more by trading in your XL-5 system for the Velineon system.

Just thought I'd give everyone the heads-up...it sounds like a pretty decent ...

Just got the Bandit delivered yesterday and of course it was raining...supposed to rain all week. anyways, since the brushless isn't waterproof I decided not to risk it. Then a few minutes ago I noticed that it had dried out enough that the streets were water free :-D (weather forecasters suck btw) so I thought I'd give the buggy it's maiden run on a combination of my driveway and the street. Our town put in rounded curbs about a decade ago so I have some cool little ramps provided thoughtfully ...

OK, it's 1/12 scale, but it's cose to 1/10 scale.

I had a few extra minutes this afternoon and since it was nice out I decided to take the Wheely King to the fairgrounds and take advantage of the giant empty parking lot (grass and dirt, lots of old ruts). I found a great rutted area with a big patch of sand and even some small ramp shaped humps. I was getting good air followed by big slides, the temperature was warm, the sun was shining, the cops drove through and didn't even bother to point ...

I've got my best friends son coming to stay with me for two weeks while his father does his National Guard service; I have too many expensive or breakable RC toys sitting around and it would be mean to tell him he couldn't use any of them. I know I could just move them for the two weeks but instead I thought I'd pick up something cheap and durable so that he could have something to bash while he's here. I thought about just letting him use one of my Mini Baja's or my Slider but I have found they ...
