| I just switched from Photoimpact XL to the newer X3...it seem's like when you just upgrade to the newer version it should seem familiar. Not this time, they changed all of the tool locations around, they've added stuff that I have no clue yet as to what it does...I was lost so I figured the best way to figure things out would be to dive in and play with it. So, I since there have been a few from scratch renderings here lately (originally posted on streetfire.net in the photochop section) I decided it would be a great way to test different brushes and tools. I admit it looks like a late 60's early 70's Italian car, but it was supposed to be original...I guess I've just spent too much time looking at classic exotics. Anyways, I still have some clean-up to do (especially around the wheel wells), but I thought I'd post it here and see what you guys think. First layout: Roughed in "blueprint": And a little color(ok a lot of color, mostly red): | |

| looks good, but change the pack ground color. Also it looks more like it is out of the 80's or really early 90's. | |

| I just looked at this on the laptop, and when you get away from the high def monitor it kind of gets lost in the background, so I'll update it a bit and see what that looks like. Thanks guys. so far: | |

| I have all that HD high res stuff, but red on red never works (that is from my art background, not how it looks on the screen). It's all about how it stands out. | |

| Do you do a lot of gaming? I could use the speed am memory for graphics, but I can't imagine what else I'd need it for. Sounds cool though. This is still a WIP, but it's getting there. I dumped the side intake for a more Ferrari-Like look; I figured since it's going that direction anyway why not? I cleaned up the lighting and decided on the final direction of the light source, then did some darkening of the red. While I'm in the early stages, I usually use one source of light from directly above, one above left, direct sidelight, and a bottom lit area so that I can decide during the final brushing. I decided on above close to center with a bottom (faint) fill. I'm trying to get to the point that I can do photo-realistic but as you can see, I have a ways to go. I'm not saying that I have no talent, just not as much as some of my friends...especially one frustratingly good one named John Thrasher...even his name is cooler...arrghh! Anyway, the revised WIP: | |

| That is really starting to take shape, and although it isn't photolistic yet, it still looks great. | |

nice yeah that looks great, yeah i know some people who can do crazy stuff with like photoshop, and such, its insane.... thats pretty cool i don't do a ton of gaming, i'ld like to do more, just cuz i got the power, but i just don't have the time or so it seems... or my friends keep bugging me online... but yeah, its great for like spore, and such, a friend lent me age of empires, thats looks pretty good too, but yeah it has great picture, its a great computer, and to get similar specs from dell or hp it'ld cost $3000+ this cost like $1200 tops... the lug | |
