| After spending hours browsing all over the net i finially gave up on finding a 17mm hex with a 5mm ID for my evader... sooo i made some... well started too at least I used some plaster of paris we had laying around from a project of old and some vaseline then once i mixxed it all up, which was not the 2 parts plaster to 1 part water that i found online more like 4 to 1 for a thicker consitancy i scooped it into the hubs, which i had allready coated in vaseline and i also did the outside since i knew it'd run down after i filled it, it looked like this... i flipped i over after 10 or so min, and wiped the excees that had gone thru the hole, the second time i did this, i used some vaseline to stick a bit of paperboard to the wheel so it wouldn't drip down so much this is how they came out, both were removed too early, i tested the durability of them a few hours later, i took the one that was mostly intact and chucked it against my table it held together pretty well... i'm gunna go try again right now... updates to be posted.... pics will be updated tommorow... the lug

| There is a cheap way of making some pretty tough ones if these don't hold up... Get some silicone window calk and make a big glob, stick your greased up plaster hex into it before it hardens. After it dries pull the plaster out and you have a mold. Next get some tow part epoxy (like JB Weld) and fill the mold, let it harden, and when it's set you should have a really tough hex. You may have to experiment with mold release agents...I think the Vaseline should work. I've made some model parts from JB when I ran out of resin before and it molds well...there is a tiny bit of shrinkage, but it shouldn't be enough to worry about (I think, maybe???). | |

what did you use as a resin, can i make some or where can i get it and how much
now i'm gunna go run down and check the ones that have been siting since last nite should be long enough

| for the most part a CM-36 4600kv, aka castles 4600kv via sidewinder, and a matched Ep 4200 6 or 11 cell, EP 4600 matched 6 cell, and a 2s 20c 5000mha zippy flightmax lipo
but most likely the castle...
or that same setup with a orion method 19X2 or the 15X2 formula pro, with venom BB's

| Roger Lug...I thought you might still be running a brushed motor - silly me LOL!
I still feel like I need a decoder ring to figure out what you "advanced" guys are talking about sometimes ;-)
I'm learning though, which makes me even more dangerous LOL! | |

| I just picked a somewhat stock Evader from Craigs list - I love this truck!!!
I can't believe how much it reminds me of an Associated...I just REALLY like this thing. I recently put some Pro-Line Gladiators in the rear...I REALLY like these tires as well.
I broke a rear CV/Dog Bone on it so I will replace both wish fresh...I wasn't jumping or anything harsh, it just sorta fell off.
Anyway - Thanks! | |

| WOW Thanks Lug!
I'll try to make this short - I had the tranny apart already to clean it. I took the diff apart but it had parts in it that didn't match the assembly diagram. I later learned that the parts resembled a diff rebuild kit that Duratrax makes for it.
I'm going from memory here but on the trust bearing end, instead of a single washer, it had two copper colored washers an on one side of each washer, the washer was sort of concave.
Anyway, I wasn't sure how it went back together so I winged trying to use common sense. It seemed to work I guess but I will be taking the tranny apart again this week because I didn't have the correct diff lube and I just needed it to get thru one week of use while I was on vacation.
When I get it apart, I'll snap some picks and maybe you can instruct me on proper assembly!
Yeah - I can keep you busy on it ;-)
Oh yeah, I see there is a Trinity 19T rush motor on eBay, I understand these were pretty good replacements for the photon - what say you?
Thanks! | |

| okie doke's its looking like you got the ST making your life easier... if you want to go BL http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_3856726/mpage_601/key_/tm.htm post #15006 if you're looking to do some light upgrades i recomend you get the B2 upgrade its like $8 in new parts and is 10X stronger the aluminum idler will run you about $17 and is nessasary for BL use, but at this point if you keep it stock or run mild mod motors you should be good. as for your ball diff, yes the grooved part on your thrust bearing that is normal with extended use, i'd just flip um over or pick up a diff reubild kit and replace um reconended settings 1/8 back from full lock for off road and 1/16 for on road use tho for a higher powered motor a little tighter is always good. for slipper about 3/4 back from full lock http://downloads.hobbico.com/evpl/dtx/dtxc0020-exploded.pdf exploded veiw my best friend... if you have any more q's pm me or start a thread or hit up the first link i posted the lug | |
