Ducted Fan Pinewood Derby Car! (Fast 1.4 second run!)

Well this was my brothers last year as a cub scout and I always make my own car to enter for the fun of it in the outlaw class...
Anyways, I always did horriable, but it was still fun. i decided it was time for redemption...



I decided to wire up a 3 cell 250 mah lipo micro-t battery to a few switches and a ducted fan and wala... One helluva crowd pleaser

That is sweet, but I wonder if it would beat one of my pine wood cars as it went undefeated for like 6 years (1 year was when I raced it, the rest for when my dad did in the outlaw class). lol

Of course it wouldn't stand a chance, but I can't wait to see your car go.

I coulcn't help but LMFAO, that car blew the others out of the water. The best part was that your car was at the finnish line before the other cars were even off of the ramp.

Lol... You should have seen it in the middle lane... The other cars were lucky to make it to the finish line because of the amount of air it was pushing LMAO, the look on the scout master's face was priceless!

That's great! A gravity racer that doesn't need gravity for acceleration.

That my friend is Pinewood Derby racing, very good idea though. Must be pretty heavy.

It actually isn't so bad, jut 1.2 ounces over weight (6.2oz) but my goal is to lighten it up as much as i can

I am shocked they let you run it being that it is over 5 oz's.

Also intead of just making it lighter, give it an aerodynamic profile so it can go that hunderth of a second faster. lol

I think you should put a model turbine on it.
