| This is one of the simplest mods to do to protect the antenna from breaking and losing the cars range. First you remove the stock ESC cover. Then where the antenna comes through the cover take a drill bit the size (or a bit smaller) than the antenna tube and install in in a pin vise (think small hand drill.) Drill down where the antenna is about 2/3 down. You can go all the way but I feel 2/3 is plenty. Now take some scrap plastic, I use styrene but nearly any piece of hard plastic will work, and shape it around the ESC cover by the antenna. This is to add support to the cover. If you don't do this the plastic where the antenna tube fits will be too thin and crack. Now use plastic glue to adhere the support piece to the ESC cover. You can use Super Glue but plastic glues actually will melt the plastic together and I find makes a longer lasting joint. After the glue dries sand and file the piece smooth and then you can prime and paint it the color of your choice. I chose Dupli-color Med Metallic Garnet. There have been others that have used antenna mounts for the tube mods but unless you had a custom chassis you can mount it to I don't like the look of them. Installing one to the top of the ESC cover would have it stick out the top of body and I personally think looks silly. My mod allows the antenna to stay in the same location and through the body with only a slightly larger hole for it in the body. I hope this mod is a help to you. | |

| I've done it to my and the wife's Micro-T's. The reason I came up with it was my original antenna broke and when I replaced it I wanted a way to keep it from breaking again. | |

| Mine has Guitar pick steering links, a few aluminum parts (arm hinges) I made my upper links out of styrene (and later painted them garnet too) as well as Integy Aluminum Rims and street tires. The shocks have been filled with silicone grease and use X-Mod Evo Truck Springs. Oh Yeah, threaded Axles and BRP Ball Bearings. And I got another body. The wife added more aluminum (bumper, hubs) to hers as well as the guitar pick steering links, BRP Ball Bearings and threaded Axles. | |

| I did it to mine, but my tube wouldn't stay in without glueing it, and its a pain to take the cover off then for maintenance, so i made made my own custom antennae tube mod! | |

| The trick is to use a drill bit smaller than the diameter of the tube you are using. I did notice some companies tubes are thinner than others. I think I was using Trinity on mine, they seemed to be one of the thicker tubes. | |

| I used a anttennae mount from i think dubro, and i mounted it on the esc/reciever cover in the corner, and it cracked off there! But it lasted over 3 months so... I want to get a new cover and mount it i;n the middle of it. | |

I want to get a new cover and mount it i;n the middle of it. I like the antenna mounts like the ones from 3Racing and Dynamite in my larger cars, but for the Micro they stick out the top of the body and in my opinion destroy the looks.

| I made a lexan antenna holder for my micro-t, it's like those ones they use on the pan cars to hide antennas in the body, and it didn't hurt range either! | |

| Thats what it was... dynamite!!! Yes they are nice, and they take away some of the looks, but i made it interesting by putting a bend in the straw. | |

You could go with the Stars and Stripes (USA) but with my ancestry I might go with Ireland, Scotland or Germany or design my own like I did for my Empire Warhammer army.
