Wow that is harsh, but on the good side it isn't that bod of a class as you just have to drive (for the most part) lol

I live in the state that is IN. lol My guess is that they are changing the way it takes to get a liscence slowly, as when you think about it; it is better to take a class to learn to drive instead of learning on your own like I did (driving came easy to me, but for others it doesn't).

I got tossed out of drivers ed, apparently "driving too fast around corners is what gets people killed." The dumbass actually told me I couldn't handle driving because I couldn't "judge speed." I guess he was right, I mean I was only racing a 600hp late model every weekend, how could I be expected to handle the 95hp Chevy Citation the school had?

Have fun with the lessons, and don't laugh at the instructors when they correct you...it seems to upset them.

Sidewinder you are my hero.

Really though if the tires aren't making noise, then you are with in what the car is able to do, and there for I say it is safe. lol

Becides the only way to learn (in some cases) what not to do is to do the wrong in the first place. It might sound strange, but if you push it too far regarless of what it is, then you know how to push it too the limits without worrying about messing up (to an extent).

muscle, have fun in drivers ed. Like I said it is by far one of the funnest classes you can take, and when I was in highschool I wanted to take it, but wasn't old enough at the time, so I just did with out it (not that I needed it, but I thought it would have been fun to do).

Thats exactly what we need, but after we do all of that we just get the license straight up. I got my permit after 3 hours of class and passing the test (which oyu could pass without a problem if you have even the leat bit of common sense)

I have probaby about 180 total hour behind the wheel by now, and i've had my permit since aug 8th of 2008, so it expires this august 8th... im hoping my parents will just give in and let me finally get my license then...

You keep track of how many hours you drive?

All I know is I put in maybe maybe 50k + miles in driving (I don't keep track but I tend to drive quite a bit).

That is what I had to do, then for the DL just a driving test (I passed both on my first try)

Although the permit is funny, as just a written test decides if you can drive a car or not (of course with an adult in the passanger seat). lmao

In Chi-town you gotta do 50 hours, 10 at night. But I already did my hours. (got em done in like two months lol) I hate driving my moms car though cuz it's a little toyota. My dads Tahoe however, now that has some power! Twisted Evil I don't drive late models on the weekends but I'd sure rather handle a 250HP V8 than a slow, torqueless 4banger. I guess I'm just weird that way... Rolling Eyes

That is a week v8 if you ask me.

I don't care how much power the car has, as the fun factor comes with out you take the car around the turns (of course in chi-town there isn't much you can do in the city (yes I know what the roads are like over there, as I have driving a few times though town))

Well for a small block V8 that gets decent mileage and still has enough torque to do 95 while pulling a blazer. I consider it power enough. I prefer big trucks to be slow and torquey, it aint a mustang. Now my neighbors 830 hp fox body stang... that's just rediculous.

Eh you don't need a big V8 Gears make the difference. My dad's got a 2002 dodge with the 4.7 V8 with the tow package which has like 3:43 gears or something. Then he drove a newer dodge with a Hemi and was unimpressed by the power. The gearing in those trucks are like 2:73 or something.

That is because off the line toqure is what gives you the lanch, not HP. Toqure is in the lower rpm range of the engine, and hp is in the higher rpm range of the engine.

Yes the gears help with off the line, as you can get going faster, but that will also slow you down when it comes to the hp side of things.

Yea but who really needs the horsepower, unless you plan on drag racing your truck at the strip. Laughing Horsepower isn't a major deal on the street more towards track and drag. Torque is that push you get off the line like you would in your normal driving.
