Hey Lug - nice to hear from ya! You may indeed get a snow day!
I would really like to see your snow setup! I had the Vader out for a few minutes tonight...did ok but the ground clearence is an issue. I currently have just Gladiators on the rear.
I may try making tire chains for the Stampede this week.
I may pick some paddles up sometime this month too, either for Vader or the buggy - can't decide at the moment.
On a completely different note, I saw the new Duratrax 1/18 SC truck at the local HT USA...pretty cool looking!

Yeah and now it's colder than a polar bears butt today!
Nice artwork BTW, Jim!
After cleaning the driveway off last night, I fired up the Slash for some snow "roundy round" runs around the driveway. I love that truck! I did pretty well with a small lipo in it as long as I stayed away from ice chunks and the deep stuff LOL!

I want this winter storm to end, as my car had a shock freeze (that was when I went to drive home from school, as it was fine before that), although all will be warm again later (I want to snowboard, but can't as I need a new board, so I don't care one way or the other right now)
Also yesterday I got stuck in heavy traffic as there was a crash on a highway so that didn't help with my current hatered of the winter storm.
Although I did have some fun in my drive way, as I just did an 180 to sipn the car around (instead of backing out, I did a 180 so I could drive foward out). lol

I hate the salt when it gets on the front window, and then you find out that there is no washer fluid. lol

well no snow day the storm hit us a tad late and was kinda done by the time it got to us, yeahh power was out last nite and yesterday morning on the way to school, someone got stuck, they called a tow truck then the tow got stuck, so we had to take a back way around that you're really not supposed to take cuz its someones driveway but it connects our road to another that dumps you out like 50 ft away, so i ended up being like 15 min late.
as for snow driving its been my evader, with badlands tho once we get a little more snow im gunna break out my ski's for it, and hopefully i can get some custom hexes made up for some 1/8 buggy sling shots, snow driving is ton of fun 5ft rooster tails, it doesn't give as much grip as dirt so everythings a lot smoother to drive wheelies are more gradual, turnings all fluffy and not as responsive and with my diff locked down has much as possible it pushes pretty hard at wot. for cleanup, as soon as i get inside i pull my RX and ESC bl motors are fine and i put some black grease around my servo horn and its pretty tight and the wires have a rubber exit thingy. and bl motors don't mind water. i then just put the car upside down next to the wood stove and let it sit, pulling the tires doesn't hurt either, i'm gunna spray it down with stuff like wd-40 but a little better just to reduce now stickage
btw Florida Institute of Tech just accepted me

Hey congrats on the FIT acceptance Lug!
Well, we missed the storm--about 1 inch of snow--but the wind took out the phone, the cable, and the TV except for NBC all day yesterday. It was so strong that it kept tumbling the Wheely King.
BTW, Thanks for the comment on the art Mark, if I have it figured right on Autemo (the biggest international automotive photochopping site on the web) I have the Misc Competitions category points battle for 2009 sewn up. I'm currently 7th worldwide in the World Championship points with one round left--so I'll probably end up around 5th. Woot

WOW Congrats on the artwork, Jim! I like them all and the Bronco is uber cool but the Mustang made my heart skip beats! THAT"S truely fantastic and great color scheme too!!!!
Glad to hear you're getting trucks out in the snow too! I'm getting out when ever possible and I picked up a set of Pro-Line sand paws and slapped them on Rustler rims today. They propel the Slash pretty good on driveway hardpack and ice.
Tommorrow I may try them on the bandit with LiPO Woo WOo!!!!!!
I gotta stay out of the hobby shop till wayyyy after Christmas though - tpp many new goodies in there now.
Hey - have you seen the HPI F1 kit car??? I keep oogling that everytime I go in there - I can imagine that on really nice asphalt...it's GOT to be a cool driving experience!
I know you liked your Tamiya (or was it Kyosho) Formula 1 car...

I just looked up the HPI kit, man for around $130 it looks like a great deal. Mine's a Tamiya, I was thinking of getting one of the newer F104's but that HPI kit looks really good...and it's got rubber tires! Woot! Until you drive a F1 type car on the rubber tires you probably wont get why that excites me, but trust me...they are so much better than foam. Well, maybe not for actual racing, but for a big parking lot the feel you get is unbeatable.
What I'd really like is one of the FG 1/5 scale Formula 1 cars, but they are way too expensive.

Wholey Schumacher! Those 1/5 scale Formulas are OFF THE HOOK! Ever see one run!? Guess I need to do a youtube search at work tomorrow ;-)
Yeah but for the money, the HPI's would be a blast with a couple of other guys, some cones and some smooth tarmac eh!?
I guess there are no electronics so it's not totally a cheap under taking. The bodies are clear so you can do your own livery ;-P
Yeah, I dig the rubber tires too, they look the part!

I have a friend from Kansas who brought his 1/5 Mercedes touring car on a visit last year...it was wild. There is a 1/4 scale track up the way in Ravenna Ohio. I keep thinking I'll go, but it could end up getting really, really expensive.
They have a big Tri-State race every year. If you get over this way next summer you should check it out, and let me know, I'll show you around. It's around the 4th of July I think.

Yeah the 1/5th stuff does look fun. I keep oogling the 5T at the local HT...not in a position to drop 1200 bucks on an RC at the moment though and I'm having fun with what I have now so...
I'm no longer covering the east as far as the sales territories go so I don't know when I will be in Ohio next, unforunately. I'm covering the south and pacific northwest now.
Had the Slash out again last night for a romp - great fun! I'm going to slap the sand paws on the buggy for the next snow run - looking forward to it.
Gotta get thru this last week of work though...hope and change made for a semi-miserable year...still counting blessings though...

I hear you, two race tracks around here are probably gone next spring. A friend who runs WoO Sprints who hasn't had under a 1.5mill budget in the last ten years can't find a sponsor. The local unemployment rate is somewhere between 22 to 28% and we have a GM plant and a steel mill slated to close in the spring.
No hope, too much change.
On the plus side I just watched Disney's 'The Princess and the Frog' and saw a high school buddy's name in the animation credits. That was fun, he used to work on sponge bob and angry beavers, so this was a big step up. I might go down to visit him this summer, he juzt got a new house in the Florida Keys...I'm just afraid if I lay by the water someone will try to roll me back in.
Oh and yeah, the post thing is odd.
