just finished watching coraline and wow tim burton still has the magic touch cant wait till "9" comes out (9-9-09) but coraline is deff better if u get the 3d one the big 3d sences are good not great but even just normal backgrounds have the 3d effect so its more like ur there and deff a great ending even leonard maltin (aperently big movie critic) said "the best 3-d movie i've ever seen!" and tim burton did a remake of alice and wonder land thatr coming out soon not his clasic like clay-mation like stuff but looks cool and i thinks johnny deep is the mad hatter but it has alot of good actors so should be good

I just saw the most violent sprint car wreck I've ever seen. The car got sandwiched between the wall and a slower car sending it flipping end for end down the front straight. It landed on it's nose at least twice, it went higher than the catch fence (20 feet high) and took out the the edge of the flag stand. It's left header came loose and landed about three feet in front of me almost hitting a very young kid (maybe 5 or 6). When it came to a rest the driver must have been unconscious because the throttle was pinned wide open and he didn't hit the cut off. The rescue crew was trying to get under the upside down car to hit the kill switch as it flopped back and forth and almost righted itself which would have sent it full throttle down the track until it hit something. After maybe a minute the engine let go and stopped, fuel was running down the track, the car was against the fence, and morons were standing up against the fence trying to see what was happening...as the blown engine was burning--tards.

We managed to get everyone back, the flag guys were ok, a little bruised from jumping off of the flag stand, but ok...and the driver climbed out under his own power after about two or three minutes. No one was seriously injured.

Please, if you ever go to a race track and there is a wreck, stay away from the fence. If that fuel had ignited there would have been dead people...a lot of them would have been children with really suckish parents.

That just goes to show how stupid people are, as just because the crash "stoped" doesn't mean the danger is gone. Really with fuel the car could catch fire anytime even if the tow truck is pulling is away if it hits a header or what not just right.

I have to say that did sound like a really bad crash, and for the driver it just goes to show how good the safty in the cars has gone up over the years. Also I have to say that was some really fast thinking by the flag guy to move out of the way with a fling leap, and I am sure that being bruised is a whole lot better then being taken out by a race car at speed in the air. lol

Also another thing parnets need keep in mind that if that guy did die then that is somthing the should try to keep away from thier kids. I know they would see in regardless, but they shouldn't have a front row seat to that sort of thing.

Yeah, this sort of thing really bugs me! After all, the best thing you can do for the driver is to get the heck out of the way and let the officials and medical people do their job!

From a parents perspective, it's also the perfect opportunity to teach this to your kids. Especially five minutes later when the driver walks away. You have the opportunity to point out to your little ones that THEY helped the driver by staying clear.

Same thing on the raod when people slow down to gawk at a fender-bender and almost cause another accident - drives me nutz!

Yep, like I needed another reason.

Mark's right though, parents should want to keep their kids from seeing carnage...I really don't get it. At the old Sharon Speedway back in 89 (maybe 88?) I was sitting at the track entrance when a Late Model driver hit and broke the guardrail, it came up in the car and cut him into a few pieces...it was a really bizarre accident. I sat there and watched as they tried to pull people away from the scene...I can't imagine how scared those kids were who managed to gt close enough to see inside of the car. I wasn't all that close, and after I found out what happened I made it a point not to look at them removing him, and even now twenty years latter I can still picture it. I wonder how many kids there had to go through therapy after that?

crap straight Bar...

From Tuesday's White House blog entry:

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain e-mails or through casual conversation. Since we can't keep track of all of them here at the White House, we're asking for your help. If you get an e-mail or see something on the Web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.

I'm glad to see young people aren't falling for this crap...I'll shut up now before we turn this into a big political fight, but do yourself a favor, read George Orwell's 1984...you'll understand what's happening a lot better.

AWW FUG 1950's all over again... great... i'm for obama but honestly i think we serously need to be a better country and just stop doing random stuff that gets ppl po'd at us... and then ask yourself this, do you NEED to be #1??? another thing if we accually did something about our issues we'd be a lot better off, i'm hearing a lot of talk but i'm not seeing anything on my end... yeah i'm a minor and all that but honestly i know when the craps hit the fan, and it wasn't in 2009 or 2008 or 2007 it was back in the 90's and 80's when we did a whole bunch of stupid arse things during the cold war, and now they're coming back to bite us in our stupid stuck up thinking were invicible behinds... soo yeah... idk where that went but... yeah... sometimes i'm really not proud to be an american...

at work (grocery store) i was putting out some rice, boil in bag rice.... i mean come in serously people if you use this stuff i mean to offend you, its PATHETIC, you can't make RICE!!! a STAPLE crop for OVER 50% of the worlds population, and you can mix 2 parts boiling water with 1 part rice, cook until the water is gone??? its just pathetic imo, but hey maybe im missing something thats super hard about making rice...

okay done ranting...

After you get through with 1984, then pick up a copy of "The FountainHead" and if you can get through it, "Atlas Shrugged" - both by Ayn Rand...

OR NetFlix or rent the movie "The FountainHead" with Gary Cooper - I dare you!

It's really getting scary in Washington...

I don't know who designed this but my dads got an 02 dodge ram. It started rotting a couple years and we were like I'm pretty sure its not supposed to rot this quickly. So we bought osme patch panels and today discovered that these highly paid engineers are absolute idiots. They put foam between the two panels so water goes up in the holes and gets trapped in the foam. It never dries out and eventually rots through in a super quick amount of time. This side wasn't even as bad as the other side. So we are ripping out the foam. Some people...

Ayn Rand is great...ok, so she was a little long winded, and no one has ever talked like her character's dialog...but the messages are dead on. I am a fan of her book The Virtue of Selfishness she's really wrong on some points in it, but overall it is a great book to get you thinking.

Scarry? Yeah a little... in the last three months I have been "hoped and changed" out of two jobs...I have found out that I may need some really annoying medical stuff done that I can't have done right away because the hospitals are backed up because people want to have medical care before it is destroyed... and today my car throws a rod (not B.O.'s fault, I know) just after I pay all of the medical bills I have wracked up so far (no insurance) so I'm now trapped without any real transportation in a small town that hasn't had a job listing in the paper since February (unless you count Avon). And to put the cherry on the sundae, I called my congressman Rep John Boccieri's office asking if he was going to have a town hall meting and I am informed by the secretary that my telephone number has been flagged as hostile and John wont take any correspondence from me in any form because I sent an email asking him to read the bills before voting on them. Yeah Mark, you nailed it, things are getting kind of scary all over.

Just wondering where is everyone at. I know school is starting up and all, but still have fun and relax on here. I know when I was in HS, I always just went with the flow and never really tried too hard (yes that means I never studied for a test and still got a's and b's). Shoot I still don't try all that hard in college and get a's and b's (I think I will change that so I can get all a's). lol

Also note doing like I do in school might not be best for you, but it always worked for me. lol Very Happy

I was talking to an old family friend who mentioned that she thought she had a snapshot of my first race in a Super Late Model ever (1981)... I was 16 and signed in under the name "Joe Blackford" so that my parents wouldn't find out. The car belonged to Cameron Duty. I used to help work on the car and that week Cam broke his leg so for the next three weeks (until I got caught) I drove the #14 Super Late. The picture is kind of blurry but the day is as clear in my mind today as it was that day.
